Beautifully Imperfect

Remember the TV commercial made by the late Yasmin Ahmad for the MCYS (Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports) which promotes the IMPORTANCE and VALUE of family bonding. It inspired me to make a layout base on the message that was sent across... its the beautifully imperfection that make a relationship perfect.

It's the imperfection that make a person an individual and special.

Dedicated this to my dear hubby.......

The Everyday Joy.......

is simply being with your family and your loved ones.

A constant reminder to myself whenever I felt my life is full of challenges and when I am feeling really down.

Simply being alive and HEALTHY is a blessing.
Simply having a house to call my HOME is a blessing.
Simply having three meals a day is a blessing.

The list can go on and on.....

The message behind this is simply...... BE THANKFUL for what we are and what we have.

Sassafraslass time!

Don't you just love the bold colours of Sassafraslass paper! It goes perfectly with photos of my two little monters (aka My Princessess)! Attended a class at my LSS and these are what we come out with! It was really fun doing the LOs. A different kind of style...... different from what I would normally do. I'm attending another one of her class again today! Happy scrapping and have a great week ahead!!!

Box Me Up

Mummy..... Can I pack myself into this box and give it to you as a present?

Here's a LO of my hubby and Ah Ger. Photos of hubby with the children or even me are so rare. He will keep doing this -_- face whenever I tried to take pics of him.

Playing with masking (if that's what it is call) and my glimmer mist. Didn't really turn out the way that I wanted it to be. But not too bad for a 1st attempt right. Hehe....

Kept the colour muted as I don't it to be too 'girly'.
I used the leftover chipboard frame and painted it with distress crackle paint. Can't really see from the photo but I love the vintagey feeling it gives. I applied some stickles to give a little glitter effect.

Kraft cardstock
Patterned Paper: Studio Calico, Collage Press, Webster's Page, Hambly overlay

My Little Bumble Bee

Been slow in updating my blog... I'm a really bad blogger. It's been very busy ever since the moving here and there...... to and fro from my parents' house. Well, since it's best for the kids (for now), I guess, we will stick to the current plan.

No doubt that there are more people around to help/supervise my domestic helper and my kids are well fed, the only part that I do not like is my girls will usually end up watching cartoons most part of the days and Ah Ger will keep sucking on her 'TuTu' which I am trying to wean her off! Sigh......

Let's just leave that aside.

Here is my lastest LO.
My cute little MeiMei in her bumble bee swimsuit! Courtesy of my brother. She didn't even try to pull out the cap! It's her first time to Sentosa (her birthday treat). She enjoyed them so much. But this Mummy forgot to bring extra clothes for herself.... so, can't let her play for too long as Mummy was getting wetter and wetter.

LO was done within 2 hours. My shortest time ever. Really wanna keep it simple so that the main focus will be the photos itself.

Materials:
Patterned Paper: Sassafraslass,
Alphas: AC Thickers, Adornit stickers
Embellishments: Die cut; Fancy Pants, Sticker; 7 gypsies, Maya Rd sheer, RubOns; Heidi Swapp, Prima Marketing, Rhinestones; Kaisercraft, Pearl flowers; Jenni Bowlin, Buttons; Tessa Ann

Layouts from class...

Attended a class in my LSS, these are the 3 layouts that we had done.

Lately, I have no mojo to scrap at all... Surfing here and there looking for an inspiration.... or maybe.... my scrap table is too messy! I really do need to clear things up before starting a new project.

Christmas is coming.... it's gift making time. I've better start preparing soon...

Have a great weekend okay! Thanks for looking!

My first altered Ikea mirror!! Hope she likes them!

Bought the tiny key from Japan. Isn't it cute!

Hanging Out

Here's layout created with May Studio Calico Kit ( trying to finish the scrap patterned paper in the kit). A rare photo of my 2 girls keeping still so that I take a decent picture! I had to coaxed the older one to sit closer together!

I love sewing on the layout! It gives some depth and definition to the layout. Isn't the 'hanging clothes' cute too?

Trying to experiment with the Maya Mist, I misted the yellow cardstock with it. Kinda like the 'not so plain' background but I would like to try misting with multi-colour ones

Materials:
Studio Calico May kit, scrap patterned papers
Alphas: AC Thickers
Stamp: Unity Stamp
Others: chipboard; Maya Rd, stickers; 7gypsies, buttons; Tessa Ann, RubOns; Prima, brad, tickets; MM, Maya Mist, Ranger distress crackle paint, ribbon; Little Yellow Bicycle

Rain, Rain, Go Away

I have been trying to minimize buying scrapbook stuff for the past month. I resisted buying so many ‘wants’ from my LSS and ‘wants’ from online scrapbook shop just because they are on sale mainly due to the fact that I realised that I have too many ‘wants’ which is never gonna end with so many new arrivals each week and month.

Due to time constraint, with work and taking care of my 2 little adorable monsters, I have even lesser time to do my scrapbooking. For example, I was not working last Monday and Tuesday, however, I didn’t manage to finish even 1 layout. I was simply tired out by the time the kids went to bed. No doubt I have my domestic helper to help me around but at the end of the day, I simply want some peace and quiet and to rest my poor brain. Thus, I make a pact with myself, keep to the budget and if I scrap less, buy less then. And USE MY STASH so that I can justify myself for buying new stash… I’m sure I’m not the scapper who is guilty of keeping stash…Heh

So, I’m trying to use up my old stash to make way for new ones… Just like this one.

I used old Sassafraslass pp for the layout. I cut out pieces of 'raindrops' from old used pp ( Don't really like to waste scrap paper). This was the first time Ah Ger was wearing a poncho. She was so excited that she refused to take them out even after we reach home. She is even sweet enough to pose for picture taking session!

I had actually misted the background with glimmer mist but it is not showing very clearly. I think the colour is to light.Simple layout... but I wanna keep the focus on my adorable daughter.
Thanks for looking!

The Star Duo

T-shirts bought during my bro's business trip to Vietnam. One of the few clothings which each of them have.

My hubby took this pictures while I was at work. It is so difficult to take their pics. One of them will either move away, look away or start pushing each other off.... Heh.

See.... In the second pic, Meimei trying to brush off Ah Ger's hand while she is trying to get Meimei to stand still.

Used 3 stamps on the layout. Mummy's little monster (which I added 'S' to it), Know This and Best Day Ever.

I'm trying to finish my old alphas before buying new ones. But it's missing a few letters so, instead, I used the negative and painted with crackle paint for added texture. Applied stickles after the paint get dried to give it a shiny look.

Materials:

Patterned Papers: Basic Grey, My Little Shoebox

Alphas: AC Thickers, Heidi Swapp, Adornit
Stamps: Unity Stamp, Studio Calico, Catslife Press

Others: Jenni Bowlin, AC Embossing Powder, Ranger Distress crackle paint, Ikandee twine, Maya Road sheer & chipboard, plastic eyes, Prima Rubons

Bliss

Here is a layout I've done in one of the classes (conducted by MWL). The class taught us how to create beautiful background ( like mine!... Hehe) using paint dabbers and metal foils to create the frame and the title too!

This is an old picture taken for my wedding album. Love the pic so much.... sigh... look at my waist..... sigh... Heh

A close up pic of the LO. I added some embellishments to it too.

To and Fro

We had decided to move back to my parents' house (aka my brother's house) last weekend. The girls are growing up and at their ages, they are at their most active and naughtiest.... At least, my parents can both help to look after my girls and at the same time, supervise
my domestic helper. Wouldn't go into details what she has been up to while we aren't looking. Not that she is bad, it's just that.... let's just say she dotes on Meimei more than Ah Ger.

It's a little squeezy at my parents' house ( with 7 adults and 3 kids) but at least my helper can't complain that she can't cope at all. Cooking is done by my mum.

Ok... don't wanna talk about it anymore. Here is my latest LO. It's been sitting on my table for quite sometime now. It's Meimei's birthday party! Isn't the cake a cutie? The kids love the bees sooo much.... We decided to make it a small affair. Just some close family members. Too tired to entertain guests and the cleaning up part..... Heh..

Cutie Pie

Meimei had fully recovered from her flu and cough. Now, it's only Ah Ger having slight cough and runny nose, my domestic helper and me having slight runny nose. I am only slightly affected by the flu bug.... thank god. Who will take care of the children if I really fall ill.

But, Meimei suddenly developed fever last Wednesday which lasted for 3 days. Her temperature usually spiked at night. She refused to let me sponged her or even put the cool pack on her forehead. She kept taking them off and threw them away. Luckily, her fever was not that high.

Here is a LO of her on the sofa..... she looks so much like Ah Ger.... so adorable!!

A budding scrapper

I am fortunate enough to have a study room which I am sharing with my hubby as a scrap room. Almost 3/4 of the room is taken up by my scrapbooking stuff and my L-shaped study table. And that is still not enough! I will conquer the whole floor space so that I can spread my patterned paper. The messier the space is, the more creative juice is flowing.

Both my girls love to enter the room and play with my stuff especially the elder one. She will
open up the plastic containers and play with my punches. She even broke my favorite one, which is a butterfly punch. Thereafter, she will innocently ask me to put them back together for her.

I have been trying to teach her how to use the different materials/tools but I think she is still too young to understand what I am teaching her. Will try again soon. Hopefully, she will love scrapbooking just like I do.

I'm back!!

Hi all!! Just came back from Japan last Thursday. It was a great trip even though I miss both my girls so much!!

I don't think I will ever leave my kids behind and go for another trip next time. On the very next day I arrived in Japan. My mum told me that Meimei was having a fever, flu and cough..... OMG....there was nothing I can do except making sure that she was seen by the dr and making sure that they gave her medications and watch her fever. Thankfully, her fever subsided the very next day into low grade fever. Not drinking her milk well but she ate all her food.... She is my little hungry ghost who will not say no to food!

Next, when I came back from Japan. Ah Ger and my domestic helper is having fever, flu and cough till now. That's what causing the delay in my posting. Ah Ger keeps whining and whining and refusing to eat her food. I don't really blame her since the flu will cause a change in her taste bud. I changed my rest day to tomorrow so that I can help my domestic helper with the kids as both of them don't want their 'Yeye'...... sigh..... Hopefully, they will get better soon....

Will post some pics of my trip soon once I settle them down.

Finally...........

I managed to finish a commissioned layout for my nurse manager. She wanted to do something special for one of my colleagues who had been promoted to nurse clinician.

This is the fastest layout that I ever come out with. I completed it just under 5hrs. Normally, I would just SLOWLY take my time pick the colour, embellishments, surf in between rest period.

But this time round, I really need to get it done as soon as possible! I still have to complete a mini albums and pack the gift bags for the ward party. I hope I can finish them in time!!

Hopefully, she likes the choice of colour combinations that I had chosed. I wanted to change the photo to black and white.... but she mentioned that she prefer it to be coloured.... so.... here is it!! Don't really like my choice of font... but since it there..... so be it then.
